I'm Deb! Nice to meet you.

If we were in person, I would ask you to tell me your story. I love deep relationships. But since we’re not in the same room, I’ll tell you mine.

I go by Deb, but my parents still call me Debbie. My kids call me Mom, and my grandkids call me Graham Cracker. Over the years, I’ve had a few titles: teacher, mom, business owner. But the most important is daughter of God. And I try to remember that everyone on this earth is one of His children.

I’ve always loved to write. In fact, I had my first piece of writing published in the second grade. It was a poem about the color pink, and the high school newspaper published it. I still have a copy. And I still love pink. But turquoise outranks it now.

Some things you should know about me:

    • I’ve never been to “the gym.” I’m not a fan of exercise. Or sweating. I know it would be good for me. I’ll probably regret it one day. But I still don’t work out.
    • My favorite thing to eat is chocolate-covered chocolate. I set a New Year’s resolution a few years ago to eat chocolate every day. That one is still going strong.
    • I’m magnetically drawn to the clearance section of every store I enter. Why pay full price? And I can’t resist a pretty dress.
    • I love watching home improvement shows, but there are no improvements happening at my house. The families on those shows always say they want a space for entertaining and having others over. Maybe if I redid my house, I would want to have people over, but honestly, I enjoy my quiet time alone in my house.
    • My faith is important to me. I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You will always find me volunteering there in one capacity or another. But I won’t try to convert you. I respect your beliefs. What I would love is a conversation. I want to learn what you believe and why. When we understand each other, the world is a better place.

What about you? Do you love to work out? If so, I’m in awe of you. Do you love to entertain? I’ll come to your party. I might even bring the chocolate.
